Marquis Sauvage
Owner / President
Marquis Sauvage began in the wine business as a young man, owner of a
wine bar in Colorado. His passion for wine lead to the family investment
in fine wine distributorships in Colorado, Illinois, Nevada and Texas.
Marquis is surprised to find himself owning cattle in Central Otago so
many years after leaving the family farm in Kansas. He and his brother
Alan are passionate lovers of fine wines from around the world. Alan
manages the family investment in Koehler Ruprecht in the Rhinepfalz.

Ted Lemon
Winemaker / Vice President
Ted Lemon's thirty years of experience as a head winemaker and vineyard
manager are the guiding hand on the tiller at Burn Cottage. Ted is well
known in both the new and old worlds for his passionate devotion to
producing terroir driven wines. Ted earned an enology degree from the
Universite de Bourgogne, apprenticed at Domaines Dujac, Roumier, De
Villaine and Bruno Claire and was the first American ever hired to
manage an estate in Burgundy, Domaine Guy Roulot in Meursault. He and
his wife Heidi founded their estate, Littorai Wines, in Sonoma County,
California in 1993.

Claire Mulholland
General Manager / Associate Winemaker
Claire joined the Burn Cottage team in 2010. She is widely respected for
her years of experience as head winemaker at Martinborough Vineyards
and at Amisfield, both in New Zealand. She has traveled the world to do
vintages abroad and brings with her a deep knowledge of New Zealand
winegrowing.

Andy Crozier
Sales Manager
Andy started his career in the UK the wine trade and completed two years of the graduate management program with Majestic. Returning to NZ to study Oenology and viticulture, he very quickly realised that the sales and marketing of wine was his true calling.
Over the past 13 years he has held roles within fine wine retail, and including both national and export sales and marketing, with the likes of Negociants NZ, Craggy Range and Mission Estate.

Shane Livingstone
Vineyard Manager
Shane joins Burn Cottage vineyard incorporating years of local Pinot
Noir experience along with winery and viticulture background from
several other New Zealand wine regions, and vintages abroad. Shane
oversees our vineyard , team, and biodynamic programme, guiding our
property forward. Shane shares our motivation to produce wines which
reflect the site they originate from.

Olivia Ross
Assistant Winemaker
Joining the Burn Cottage Team in 2014, Olivia has previously studied
to a Masters level with viticulture and Oenology, and has a diverse
background from arts to vineyard, wine and analysis (and the various
areas of convergence!) Olivia's love of wine has taken her from the
vineyards and wineries of Central Otago to diverse places abroad,
including France several times, and most often recently in the pursuit
of organic/ biodynamic production. Olivia's role is varied and
importantly incorporates both Vineyard and Winery facets of Burn
Cottage.
